I'm sure you've all heard the great news by now, but just in case you haven't...my friend, Ana White, has written a book! Yep! You know Ana, right? (How could you not know Ana if you've been around blogland very long at all?) Ana is the genius behind Ana-White.com, the popular website she created where she posts her amazing furniture plans.

(How could you not know Ana if you've been around blogland very long at all?) Ana is the genius behind Ana-White.com, the popular website she created where she posts her amazing furniture plans.
Ana's book, The Handbuilt Home is a beautifully put together guide with amazing furniture projects for every room in the house. Even if you have never built anything before in your life, you'll love this book. It has easy-to-read instructions that guide you every step of the way.

As soon as I got my copy, I devoured almost the entire thing! The layout is beautiful, the photography lovely, and the projects are fabulous. Ana is a self-taught furniture builder who wants to empower others to do the same, and I felt like her book was very inspiring! I've got a couple of projects dog-eared already. :-)
And today, I am able to offer you a sneak peek at one of the projects in Ana's book! The Farmhouse Bench. If you'd like to try your hand at building this adorable bench, you can find the plans here.

That bench is a humdinger! The feet are in the right place so that when someone sitting on one end stands up, the person sitting on the other end won't land on the floor on his/her wrong end. .I've seen plenty of bench instructions that had the feet/legs not close enough to the end of the bench. Good for Ana!!! Shoulda knowed a woman would git it r'ight.
