You might remember that he painted a series of Campbell's Soup Cans. Well, Target is currently selling Campbell's soup cans that have labels that look like his paintings. So when I was there last, I happened to see an end cap filled with Andy-Warhol-labeled Campbell's Tomato Soup cans. And guess what? They were so darn cute, I had to buy some. One of each, actually. (Good thing we like tomato soup around these parts.)
So now the question is...what do I do with them?
Eat the soup, of course. But I *have* to do something fun with those cute cans.
I was thinking of creating a window sill herb garden.

Any suggestions? If you have a fabulous idea - or really any idea - leave it in the comments, pretty please.
(No, I'm not affiliated in any way with either Target or Campbell's Soup....just posting this for fun.)
Have a great day~

Craft supply storage/organization...
I have done some antiquing on tin cans and used them for all kinds of things.... planters (the plants, great artificial herbs that we picked up at Ikea.) The other ones hold bundles of herbs which I am allowing to dry... i.e. lavender, thyme, etc. We also use them to hold pencils, pens, scissors, straws, pipe cleaners, etc.
Yes I have a thing for "antique" tins when it comes to office supplies!
Good luck!
I truly have no idea what could be done with them to be completely honest however, I do feel as though you should keep them. Someday they may be worth something you never know & if they are only doing it in celebration of the years then their will not be a huge supply of them that look like that! They look super cute :)
I saw those at Target this morning and thought... seriously... these would make some kick butt decor pieces in my kitchen! :)
Hmmmm, why not make some wee moss 'nests' with bird figurines to top them off?
I saw them yesterday and one would laugh at me if they saw me gazing at the soup cans.. what would I do with them...
I have no idea yet.
Sandy
I saw these yesterday as well & was dying to buy them but passed because I didn't know what I'd do with them. I'm excited to read everyone else's ideas so I can go back & pick them up! :)
I bought three of the yellow and robins egg blue ones...I didnt eat the soup, but I stacked them on my open shelving, that just happens to have the blue backing the shelving and pops of yellow amongst my white dishes...they look super cute just stacked there!!
I would carefully take the wrappers off the cans and frame them to hang. They are cute!
I'm loving all of your ideas. I have to laugh too because the cans have just been sitting on my counter for me to admire since I bought them. Maybe I just need some open shelving! Ha ha! And Sandy, I have thought of that too...it's really the labels that I love. :-)
I would probably remove the labels. I think if you tried to clean out the cans, the labels (the part that is really cute, anyways) might get ruined! You could frame them as a piece of art in your kitchen or pantry.
I agree....framing the labels would be the best :)
I went back to Target today to look at them. I think I was there before they put them out. Sandi. I was gazing at them for a while. I think peeps thought I was crazy. Went w 8 of the yellow and robin egg blue. I think I will just display them in my kitchen as is. Maybe on top of a stack of cookbooks. They are so cute!
You just gave me the PERFECT idea for storing my paintbrushes!! Thank You!!
Flowers, they make the perfect quirky vase for your flowers. A few small little posies.
hanging string lights!!! I would decoupage the cans to make sure the labels stayed nice, then string them up as lighting fixtures. Would be really cute on a patio or as a string of three in a kitchen!
I love the idea of framing the labels. OR, they would make cute pencil/pen/marker holders:) So cute! Wish I had a Target close to go get some!
I think I will decoupage the labels on the inside of a kitchen cabinet back, or pantry shelf back, to make a nice backdrop when I open the door. You could do the same thing on a piece of cardboard or wood that stands up to fit the space tightly. Then you could take it down and change it later on. Not so permanent. My maiden name is Campbell, after all!
Oh my goodness how wonderful! I must go visit target!!! lol I agree that carefully removing the labels and displaying them would probably be easiest. Either that or I think I will try spraying them with clear spray paint to preserve the label before opening them so they are partially preserved before getting wet from any rinsing etc. Don't know if that will work, then using them to store pencils paint brushes etc. in my studio. How inspiring, thank you so much for sharing :)
This is what I did!

OMG...saw your post on this and went straight to Target to get some cans. We ate the soup that night with grilled cheese sandwiches...I rinsed the cans out and now they house all of our colored pencils. They are organized by color group according to the label and they look gorgeous! My youngest daughter was so excited that she couldn't wait to color something because it all looks so inspiring! Thanks for the heads up about the cans...I might be posting about it myself!!!
I would keep the labels, totally remove the top & add wire hangers. You can store things up off your counter or desktop or give them as a gift. Fill them with flowers and hong on a door knob. This is my first visit to your blog & I am loving it!!! Thank you!!
