Small Town Big Fun~

You may recall that I have partnered with Apartment Guide to serve as an Official Apartment Guide Decor Blogger! As an official blogger, I will be sharing articles and ideas for exploring your space, city and style.

At the beginning of the month I shared some of my go-to tips on  how to make your summer guests feel at home, and I mentioned that later in the month I would share a few of my favorite local fun spots with you....the same ones I would share with my guests.

So here it goes...

I live in a small town in Utah County, Utah.  Because it is a small town...I decided that I would share a few spots in the surrounding towns as well...

But first, one of my very favorite local fun spots...Thanksgiving Point located in Lehi, Utah.  Thanksgiving Point is a whole big ton of fun all wrapped up in a tidy little package.  At this one venue you can dine, shop, catch a movie in their new state-of-the-art movie complex, check out dinosaurs and other great stuff in the Museum of Ancient Life, tour their beautiful gardens, see a concert at their amazing outdoor venue, golf etc. etc.  Seriously, if someone comes to Lehi, and doesn't go to Thanksgiving Point, they've really blown it.  Lol!

Next, for those who are outdoorsy, the Alpine Loop that begins in Alpine, Utah is a must-see.  This stretch of highway winds its way through some of the most beautiful scenery Utah has to offer.  It's especially breathtaking in the fall. If you're not content to simply drive the loop, you can also hike, camp, ski or even dine at the amazing Sundance Resort.

There are plenty of places to play near where I live, but one of my kiddos' favorites is Trafalga in Lehi.  A mini-amusement park with rides and miniature golf, it's a great place to go with the family.

In nearby Herriman, Utah  you can stop and see a real-life house based on the house in the movie Up.  This house is one-of-a-kind Disney approved.  (And it's adorable!)

Finally, if shopping is your thing, you'll want to be sure to stop by The Meadows in American Fork.  Filled with all kinds of shops (mostly major chains) and dining (also primarily national chains) as well as movie theaters you're sure to find what you need, be entertained, and be able to fill your tummy too.

So if you ever find yourself in northern Utah County, try one or all of these locations for a bit of local flavor and fun.

Not sure there is a small town along the Wasatch front any more. I remember when Alpine was Hicksville when I was a kid(a Devey with Alpine roots). "Alpine Days" was their big event. And we knew everyone.
