Box4Blox: Product Review and Giveaway~

This post is sponsored by Box 4 Blox

I've mentioned numerous times on this blog how obsessed my boys are with LEGOS.  Obsessed may be an understatement.  We have so many sets, we're running of out of display space.

This one sit on a makeshift table in the garage. :-)

And then there are the sets that have been taken apart (that's a nice way of saying that the little brothers broke them).  What to do with all of those legos?

We've kept them in boxes.  We have them in buckets.

So when I was contacted by Box4Blox I was intrigued.  Box4Blox is a Mom and Pop company that creates these great Lego storage containers that sort the Legos for you!

Boy #1 was so excited to try it out, he couldn't wait.  He was getting a bit annoyed with the fact that I was making him wait until I could take photos. (Oh that crazy blogging Mom!)  But finally, we pulled out the box and pulled out a bucket of his legos.

It was great!  The Box4Blox is divided into four compartments, each of which has holes in the bottom.  The holes in each compartment are graduated in size with the largest holes at the top.  They get smaller and smaller as they go down.  So after we dumped in the legos, we shook the box (and pushed them through with our hands to give it a little help.)  It worked.  By the time we were done, the legos were sorted by size.  What fun!

If you have a home with lego-obsessed inhabitants, you might want to try this fun storage box out for yourselves.  And today, the good people at Box4Blox are offering one reader of The Shabby Nest the chance to win their very own Box4Blox Lego storage box!

To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post!  Tell me your kiddos favorite thing to build with Legos!  Tell me how bad it hurt the last time you stepped on those Legos on your floor!  Tell me how much YOU love Legos!  Just leave me a fun comment and you'll be entered.

Giveaway will close Thursday, January 12 at 11:59 pm MST.

Good luck!

Omg! Where do I start...my son has done the Eiffel Tower (in our Living Room) and most recently the VW Van ( so cool I want to live in it). Those boxes look awesome, do you know how many times I have been asked to come help him sort Legos (and always the same color, drives me nuts)?
And I can not count the times I have walked bare foot in my son's room and stepped on a Lego (why does it hurt so much?)
Sooo happy to hear about this fabulous product...genius!

Speechless and delighted! Box4Blox-I'll surely remember that name!
I have two boys-a 12-year-old and 9-year-old, and also many problems with storage. And there is always that particular little part they need to find just somewhere, and it's always at the bottom of the box..Anyway, they make special contests in assembling and re-assembling with their eyes closed, recording the time for each other and trying to break records ;)

My daughter first got into legos when she was little. I think we own every Harry Potter lego kit. Now my son has moved onto the City lego set and builds and rebuilds them. I use a dresser in my living room for my tv and every drawer is full of legos.

OH, how helpful this would be, even teens love legos! Thanks for the giveaway!

This gadget sounds awesome! It would certainly cut down time spent searching for that specific piece.

My 5 y.o. son loves his Legos and so do I. Though stepping on them in the dark I don't love quite so much! LOL

Thanks for the giveaway! I hope I win!

What a fantastic invention! My daughter loves to build towns with shops and houses. I have stepped on legos so many times...it feels like getting a shot in your foot :(

What a wonderful idea! Our grandsons love to build "modes of transportation" - especially those made to transport one outside the galaxy. And it IS fun to find them as you are walking barefoot zombie-like to the coffee in the morning.

Oh i would love to win....my son adores the star wars legos and we have a ton of the "broken" sets that the kids have to DIG through to find stuff to build with....a sorter would be AWESOME! Thanks for a great contest!

This is so neat! I would love to win won of these!

This sounds like a great storage idea for legos. My oldest son love Star Wars lego anything, my youngest son is happy to play with whatever lego he gets. Thanks for giving all of us a chance to have our own.

Peggy said...

Oh we love our Legos but they don't get played with as much as they once did. This is partly because all of their sets are now stored in the large rubbermaid totes and they guys have gotten older (ages 12, 15, 17.) Their biggest complaint now is that all the "good" stuff in in the bottom of the totes/bins. Favorite things to make: castles/forts or anything Star Wars.

Thank you for this opportunity!

BRILLIANT idea! I have 4 boys...which means A MILLION and a HALF LEGOS under foot.

What an awesome storage solution! My kids aren't big on Legos yet but my nephew LOVES them. My brother found a website that has all of the old instructions for the Lego kits from back in our day (make me sound old much?) and they've been recreating them together. What great fun!

Holly said...

What a great organizing idea for Legos! My son LOVES being creative with Legos - his favorite thing to create is either cars or ships.

My sons are completely into the Lego City sets now. Those storage boxes look great!!

I have a five and three year old boy. There are star war ships everywhere! I think my little guy gets hurt on them more than I do. His little feet are like lego magnets, and the way he jumps and runs around, it hurts, and we know it!

Rebecca said...

Oh boy, do we need one or two of those! My youngest son has joined my oldest in their quest to collect every Lego known to man - ha! They love to build the kits, but then they take them apart and build their own very cool creations. My husband's and my job is to step on the smallest ones. :)

Harmony said...

This looks fantastic! I have an 8 year-old who plays with Legos everyday and his dad is an architect so you can only imagine the stuff they come up with. Would love to win this!

Wow Box4blox looks like my lifesaver, We have three boys from 18yrs to 4yrs and they all love the legos My oldest had the soccer set which was very cool and my youngest just loves his new fire truck and rescue boat. I love that my 4yr old can connect with his older brother through legos, when my oldest is home this is what they do. Yes, legos make me yell when stepped on. Someone should come out with a really cool display table that would be stackable to save space. Love your blog.

Kelley said...

My five year old is slightly lego obsessed. Organizing his legos makes me slightly obsessed so I would love one of these!

Baye said...

What a great idea. You have no idea -really NO idea how many storage boxes of legos we have collected over the years.

Drama Mama Lori said...

Okay, this is brilliant! Being completely OCD myself, I like to store my (I mean the boys') Lego's by size in one of those clear plastic drawer things, but it takes me forever to sort them that way! Thanks for the give-away!!! - Lori

We are slowly moving from a K*nex world to Lego land, and those little bricks are everywhere! We set up an old 8' conference table from DH's work in the basement so that the building could go on uninterrupted but we haven't come up with a good storage solution yet. The Box 4 Blox would be perfect! Great giveaway---thanks for hosting.

My children love to play with the Star Wars legos. And yes, multiple times, perhaps some expletives ;-) have come into play when I've stepped on them.

This would be the perfect accompaniment to the harry potter lego set I am giving my nephew for his birthday this month!

This seems really cool! I don't step on legos at night because they stay scattered on the floor in the basement. I just don't go down there and my feet are fine. I love them though and so do my three kids. I hope I win. I could really use it!!

My 12 yr old loves to build his own creations, usually spaceships with guns. He refuses to put them away securely in case inspirations strikes. Also in his room is his 16 month old brother who loves to fling legos everywhere! Not a good combination

Cindy said...

LEGOS: OMGoodness, I still have all of the ones we purchased for our boys who are now 26 and 30 years old. Now that we have granddaughters we have acquired new girlie color legos but the boys still get on the floor with their kids and their old sets and play for hours. I'd LOVE to win!!!

I definitely have a lego lover in this household. I asked him what his favorite thing to build is and he replied, "Anything Star Wars, castle, and I love to design my own aircraft." I showed him this storage option and he thought it was brilliant. I agree.

Gladice said...

Anything duplo at this point, thankfully...but so close to the Lego stage...ahhh

Anna Maxson said...

Star Wars Legos are by far and away the preferred building tools but my boys will build anything if it involves legos! I could kick myself for not inventing these boxes myself, it would have saved many a late night toe jamming! As of now I give my boys a 5 minute warning before I vacuum their rooms to make sure anything precious is picked up. If not they get to watch it spin round and round in the Dyson container. We had to buy a vacuum that could handle legos!

two lego loving boys in my house! one loves to build and the other destroy...Starwars, Harry Potter and one of a kind creations are the favorites. My favorite is a well kept lego table. I can dream right?

Kelly Smith said...

What do my kids NOT build with Legos? That's the question!

Lora said...

I would love to win this for my son. His room is overrun with random Lego's right now. The vacuum usually find any that escape to other parts of the house. He liked the Lego City sets last year but this year he has moved up to the Technic sets. Thanks for the giveaway!

Here is a blog post I did about our lego and how they took over our house: http://www.typicalsuburbanfamily.com/2011/02/03/legos-before-and-after/ I love the organization system you are giving away though! What an amazing idea! My son LOVES legos and plays with them all over the house. He even lets his sisters play with him :) His little 1 yr old brother loves them too - which isn't so great! This is a perfect way to keep the little pieces picked up and out of the way but still able to find them!

Okay so the last time I found a lego with my foot, I almost found the floor with my forehead!! ouch!! almost complete nose plant...Thank God for somehow maintaining my balance. I love legos, it encourages my son to be creative. My favorite conversation to date is him telling me he wants to become an architect or an engineer, because he wants to build real buildings and design them. Woohoo!! Better start an investment for his college fund huh?!?! Chase loves to build things that can move, but doesn't discriminate he loves ALL things lego.

Legos, Legos and More Legos EVERYWHERE! My cute little amazingly talented lego builder had them everywhere. He builds awesome buildings, boats, airplanes and choppers with them, then takes them apart and builds a new creation instantly. But my sweet little boy was having major issues with putting those darn little things away along with all of the other toys in his room and I had finally had ENOUGH! So, being a really mean mom, I made him bag up all of his toys and when he cleans his room, with what he has left in there (clothes and bedding)he gets a bag of toys back. Well, the first thing he wanted back was his legos of coarse! And as soon as I gave them back, he of coarse had to make me feel even worse for taking his toys and he spelled out I love U with a heart using his legos and put it on my side table in my room. It was the cutest thing in the world. I wish I could post a picture here, because I had to take one of that creation, it was so sweet! I know that he would love to have an easier way to clean up all those legos he loves so much!

I have 2 boys 7 and 9 and they can't seem to get enough (and th 7 year old tends to do better and/or harder ones than his brother). Being a little obsessed with trying to keep sets together, I watch as it is failing ever so slowly no matter what I do. I think my boys like the city series best because they tend to build it as is, then redesign something similar but a little more wonderful!

Has anyone ever fallen asleep on one and woke with the imprint on your face? That's fun.

I didn't introduce my kid to lego's until my "baby" was old enough that she wasn't eating things off the floor. That year we had a Lego Christmas extravaganza... No looking back. I love legos as much as they do. My favorite lego instructions are actually the ones my 6YO designs and write for me in his "books". He's my future civil engineer. (oh, and now we have another baby!!! so my nightmare isn't just stepping on them in the middle of the night (got stitches doing that once) but the baby eating them!!!)

CityHouseStudio said...

I LOVE legos! And am so glad that my kiddos are now old enough to play with them too. I was thrilled beyond belief when my mom showed me that she'd saved all my old legos--especially the sets with the kitchen and living room--I was happier than the kids!

Favorite expressions from a lego mom:
"These legos will be the end of me!"
"Not ANOTHER lego!"
"Crap- I just vacuumed up a lego!"
"I need a lego with three bumps, not two."
"Anyone see a black lego the size of a pin?"
"Finding a lego in this house is like finding a needle in a haystack!"
"God help me before I throw out all these legos!"
"If I step on ONE MORE LEGO, I am going to..."
"I wish I had SOMETHING to organize these legos!"

Haven't we all at one time or another "played' with Legos? my siblings and I wiled away many an hour playing intently with them..TOGETHER!
just quiet murmers of conversation..creating our own world..
fast forward.. both brothers became talented builders of homes, furniture etc..
Sis and I can do a lot of our own construction..from designing to making a creation become a reality..
early Lego Inspiration??
today, my Grandson plays with the Star Wars version,,does this say he may become an astronaut exploring another galaxy or two? Who Knows..
I do know for sure Legos are sure to keep on inspiring kids for a long, long time to come!

You couldn't have picked a better subject! Our playroom looks like Lego Land exploded! We have 2 large formerly-Thomas-the-Tank-Engine tables (in their other life) with the drawers underneath. The tables are covered with Legos, the drawers are bursting with loose Legos. The art table is covered...actually every surface that can hold something is covered with Legos. The biggest complaint when I ask my boys to clean them up is "Awww, it's TOO hard". This would be SO fun for them AND get the cleaned up AND they would be able to find Luke Skywalker's head or Madam Hooch's goggles because it would all be sorted! Would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to win one!!!!
