I was contacted several weeks ago by a cute lady named Toni Hammersley who asked if I'd be willing to review the Shaklee Basic H cleaning products on my blog. I was convinced to try them out as soon as I found out that they are all natural! Because of the fact that my boys all suffer from Alpha 1, I am always on the look out for products that are healthier for my home and the planet. Shaklee products are just that.
Shaklee products are free of heavy metals, pesticides and other contaminants. The Basic H products are also highly concentrated...meaning that just a little bit of the cleaning product mixed with water in varying ratios provides you with gallons of cleaner...from one little bottle. That is GREEN baby!!
I especially loved the glass cleaner. I used it on the sliding glass doors in my kitchen that are constantly fingerprinted (and smeared with food). With some Basic H glass cleaner and a squeegee, they were spotless. I tried to get a photo of the difference...trust me it was impressive. But let me just tell you that glass is very hard to photograph. Sigh. So you'll have to trust me on the difference. Just remarkable.

I would love to give this a try! I remember years ago watching the Al Gore movie and then switching to vinegar and baking soda for cleaning for nearly a year. However my family all kept getting sick and I decided that even though things looked clean it wasn't killing the bacteria so I stopped.
I'd like to see how this would do in my house! Love that Toni's site. Hope I win something =)

I've got 4 children under the age of 6 who all love to help clean! Anything from wiping down walls and door knobs to washing the windows. Wow! My grand mother used Basic H when I was a child (many moons ago!). She also used carbolic salve... Both products I associate with being at Grandma's house. I never knew Basic H was still around and not some ancient outdated product. Interesting.

A clean home is a happy home!! As a college student, it's not always easy to slurge on the most environmental friendly products because of the higher costs these days, forcing me to resort to. Ugh. I already use Basic H2 (which I purchased from Toni) and I've been wanting to share my results. I recently used it to clean my exhaust vents above my microwave. I was very pleasantly surprised. All that greasy dust was easily removed.

I love Toni's blog. I've been a follower for a while now. I haven't tried these products but I'm very curious about them. I have dogs and the smell from regular cleaning products kind of freaks them out. I'd love to try Shaklee to see how well it works and to see how the dogs react.
