Fly~

For the past few years I have chosen one word to serve as my "word of the year". My sort of mantra or inspiration for that year. This year I was inspired by the quote I shared you with you in this post.

And that quote is...

"She went out a on a limb, had it break off behind her, and realized she could fly."
Kobi Yamada

2010 was a very trying year. It just kind of seemed to be a fight right from the start. And then after John's accident, it became that much more difficult.

But 2011 holds promise for me. I think it might be the year when things come together. When my dreams start coming to fruition! But that's not going to happen unless I work hard and put myself out on a limb.

It's not an easy thing to do...to chase your dreams....to climb out on that limb. And sometimes, just as it says in the quote, once you get the nerve to climb on the limb, you hear a snap, and the limb breaks. But this year, instead of falling with that broken limb, I'm going to strap on my wings and....

FLY!

Have a great day~

Thank you so much for the quote. Last year was an extremely difficult year for me and I keep meeting other people who say the same. This quote is an inspiration for 2011 (my word for the year is "intentional") and I am going to share it with friends. May your 2011 be filled with blessings!

Just sitting in the tree. . . sitting in the pretty shabby nest. . . is so nice and comfortable. Stepping out on a limb is not nearly so comfortable! But oh, to be cleared for take-off!

Bless you, dear Wendy, as you discover what your flight path will be.

"It's a bird. . . it's a plane. . . it's. . . "

Wendy!

Oh but the first step out on the limb can be scary!

Thank you so very much for the inspiration! I have had a hard time getting my dream business off the ground and sometimes feel it is time to abandon the cause. I am a visual designer, but my heart lies in using my talents to try and help save the rainforests and the creatures that call the jungles home. This post made me realize I need to be resolute in following my dream and continuing to try to make a better life for those animals that make my soul smile.

somtimes we hear a quote or thought and it just hits us right.
I really loved your one for this post.
Here is one I found at a gift shop this morning. Maybe it is not profound but it is worth pondering over.
once again thanks for sharing...

"It is not the path you choose, but the journey that brings true wisdom."

Hi Wendy, we are in the same tree, I think. It's a scary feeling, and I'm not ready yet to go out on the limb -- slowly, slowly I'm inching! Good luck to you, and I believe that we know it in our gut when it's time. I've only got a half gut right now :) Love your blog!

Hi! Realize I only know you through your blog and I know you are plenty busy but with your theme this year I can't not mention this. I feel like you would love the book Taking Flight by Kelly Rae Roberts. I have been doing mini reviews of it on my own blog if you have any interest. http://withjoycarey.blogspot.com/2011/01/dream-big-week-two.html

Love the quote and the meditation you wrote. I think I should keep this in mind. My word this year is Time. I think I will make time to fly. :-)

Such a neat balloon idea. I have to wait until November to use it!
