Just Breathe~

Remember when you were little? Did you twirl? I did. I loved to see how far my dress would go out as I would spin. I would have contests with my friends. Whoever's dress would go out the farthest would win. Did you do that? Did you twirl? Twirl just to twirl?

Somewhere in all the growing up I've done since I was that little girl, I stopped twirling. I started wearing pencil skirts. They don't go out when you twirl, so what's the use? I became practical. I started to worry. I worry alot. Even at Christmas time, with all of the merriment around me, I worry. Do you?

There are so many generous, loving people out there. People who give. They give of themselves. They give of their money. They give because they love. They want me to twirl.

And so, at least for today, I will try to look beyond the worry. I will try to embrace the optimism of the season. I will breathe. I will twirl.
Will you join me?

wow...you put into words how i've been feeling lately. i'm a worrier & the holidays bring quite a bit to worry about - money, to-do lists, running around.
thanks for the reminder to breathe, twirl & enjoy this season as our children do - purely, innocently & with wide-open joy.

Oh Wendy how i needed this today... i haven't been twirling this holiday season... my husband's constant travel and work demands have me in constant worry about his stress level... now my little son is so sick... the kind they just need to be held while the medicine goes down and hope it doesn't come back up.... so i need to twirl and not worry that the house is half decorated for Christmas... this year i just want 4 healthy kids and my husband home on Christmas.
xo,
LuLu

I got a REALLY nice jute rug from Overstock.com. I actually ordered a floral rug and didn't like it. It was easy to send back and was CHEAP shipping both to and from. Loved the new one I got in it's place. Great experience here.

Crinoline slips were still in fashion when I was a little girl. They're the best for twirling. When I was about 7, we were getting ready to go somewhere but my mother didn't want me to put my dress on till the last minute. So there I was in my pretty Mary Janes and ruffled socks and crinoline--twirling to my heart's content in the front yard. Mom wasn't too happy about that, but I still remember the feeling. Thanks for the smile today.
