This I love...Green Edition~

I have been developing a real appreciation lately for "green" design. And one of my favorite aspects is the use of reclaimed and found objects. After all, what is more "green" than recycling? Then as I was visiting one of my favorite design blogs the other day, I ran across this amazing image from Restoration Hardware.

This incredible table is made from salvaged wood. I repeat...salvaged wood. Are you salivating yet? I am.

I spent some time perusing the Restoration Hardware site, and I was enamoured with their latest collections.

This mirror stopped me in my tracks...again made from reclaimed wood.

Okay, no salvaged wood in this room..but isn't it dreamy?

In this room, I adore the rolling rack made from reclaimed timber...I love adding a little bit of an industrial feel to a space. This rack accomplishes that, without making you feel like you just walked onto the factory floor.

And finally, I think I found the perfect solution to my coffee table quandary. Actual vintage furniture factory carts. These are straight from the factory floor circa early 1900's.

But used just right, doesn't it look amazing?? Swoon.

Have a great Thursday~

I am totally coveting the round table right now from R.H.
It's part of the vintage barn wood...and it would be fab in my dining room...
but not at a $1400 price tag.
one can dream right!

I pulled the same pics when I received the last catalog. The piece that intrigued me the most was the easel that holds a flat screen TV. Their latest collection is amazing!!!

Best wishes,
Tammy

Beautiful! Every day I drive by this old ice factory (ice house? ice store? What do you call it?)....Anyway, there are two of those old wheeled carts sitting out front. I have lived here for 18 months - who knows how long they have been there. I. want. them. What to do? Try to track down the owner? I'm also thinking there is probably still great stuff inside the building. I really want to know!

Wow! Particularly liked the mirror. I have friends who made a summer house using only salvaged wood. It's beautiful, and I still don't know how they did it. What an amazing post. Thanks. xx

I love and adore almost evrything RH puts out. THere was this coffee table..."the one that got away". Anyway, I stopped by their store last night and grabbed the new catalog...LOVELY! They've a new duvet cover set with a danish(?) crest on it made from linen. Saw it in the store and it was divine. :)

Wendy, I love that coffee table, I've been wanting something like it for years! I had fabricated one for myself out of an old wooden hand cart once but I ended up wrecking it when I tried to remove the rubber tires to expose the metal wheel.. couldn't get it off at all.. I miss that coffee table! Using a trunk right now, it's not old and worn, so it's not really me.. thanks so much for these pics!

The rolling racks are mimicked after antique shoe racks.

I have an antique shoe rack in my dinning room. I also have wood shelves that I've purchased from a local home improvement center. I'm going to mimic the shoe rack by making a few adjustments.

This re-vamped collection of Restoration Hardware's is actually not their own!!! They have done a deal with Mark Sage, who is the Backbone of Bobo and Love Train. He is out of Atlanta and features @ Scott's Antique Market as well as High Point, NC. He's on fire, everything is from Sweden, Belgium, and Argentina. Bobo, meaning Bourgeois, Bohemian...I believe the site is www.bobointriguingobjects.com
Only to the trade of course!

The design team at Restoration Hardware has really raised the bar! Why do I love those giant hanging lanterns so much? I'm going to look for vintage versions, which might actually be cheaper than new models.
