The Amazing Transforming Sofa~

This is how my living room normally looks. Note the sofa. Tan slipcover. Very non-confrontational. But also, just a little....um...dull. Don't get me wrong. The tan is a nice supporting color. It goes well with almost any other color I throw at it. It. hides. dirt.

But the other day, my little boys (aka The Toddler Demolition Team) decided to draw on the couch. With marker. Washable marker, luckily. But we happened to have a showing scheduled for the next day. Not enough time to wash the slipcovers and let them dry.

White slipcovers to the rescue. We used these white slipcovers in our former house when the sofa was in a lower traffic area. I love them. I repeat. I love them. It was like breathing fresh air into the house when I slipped them on. Of course, I don't think the color scheme in this house lends itself well to the white, but I enjoyed piling all of my pale pillows on both the sofa and the big cushy chair.

I'm thinking in our next house, I'll try to use the white again.

Hi Wendy,
I love your white slipcovers! They look so pretty on your couch and armchair! :) If you don't mind me asking, where did you get them or did you make them yourself? I have been looking for ones like this and it has not been easy to find them!

Hope you have a good night! :)

I have always loved white but then I take one look at my dark couch and realize how many stains she "hides"!

Love the slipcovers. I want some of my own. My couches are dark brown and can be so depressing. I really do need to find some white ones.

Just fyi - there's a giveaway going on at my blog if you're interested - a Fall Fox pin.

Ah....bliss. I want white slipcovers in a bad way. I've decided I will just have to get into a routine of washing them like I do my sheets. 'Bout once every 6 months or so outta do, eh? ;)

I love white, but just don't think I can do it. I have it in my bedroom, but that is a NO-TOY/destruction zone. I love how your couches look!

I have been considering having a couch that has slipcovers, and seeing the versatility of yours has given me great inspiration.

I love the look of the white with the tan pillows. Very soothing.

It looks fantastic! What an awesome little face lift! I made the move to a white slipcovered sofa a few months ago. Before that, I had a custom sofa that seemed to own ME because I was so freaked out about it. Having a slipcover really made me relax and chill out. No spills yet...and I have a boyfriend and dog!

Um... am I the only one who thought that if they colored the tan sofa, they'll do worse to a white one?

Both slipcovers are beautiful. I really wish my mammoth brown suede couch was a little easier to slipcover!

They look great, I'd say keep them on while your house is on the market! Good luck with that venture...Janell

We are only seeing them on here not the whole house but from what I can tell I like the white slips even better than the tan, it really lightens and brightens the room up, so pretty!!

I have a white slipcovered sofa and I adore it. Of course, it resides in the livingroom, not in the sunroom where my three grandsons have free reign!

Sometimes a new slipcover is exactly what we need to spruce up a room a bit. Makes it feel like you got a whole new couch!

I have a slipcovered white rocker in my son's nursery, and another white slipcovered loveseat in our playroom. Love the slipcovers! They are so easy to wash and bleach if and when it is necessary!

You know when it hides stuff...it hides stuff!!! I hear once you go white slipcovers you never go back. You can see the dirt and deal with it. I am looking to make a slipcover for my sofa in white soon!
