So I was given this award by Julie at Jam n' Jilly. I haven't played along with one of these awards in a while, so I thought I'd give it a go. The idea behind this particular award is that you are supposed to list 10 honest things about yourself.

Here goes nothing...

1. I never leave the house without makeup on...and hair done.

2. I also can't leave the house unless all the beds are made.

3. The clothes in my closet are arranged according to color...in the order of the rainbow. (yeah, there's a little of that design OCD going on there, I think.)

4. I find sweeping to be therapeutic. (I just really figured this out about myself a little while ago, and I think it's kind of weird...anybody else think cleaning is therapeutic?)

5. I have had a lifelong goal of becoming a published author someday...I even have a children's book manuscript that has been waiting to be submitted...but I'm chicken. I write a blog...but I'm afraid to submit a manuscript...go figure.

6. I hate folding laundry. Hate. it.

7. I am obsessed with decorating magazines...and I can't bring myself to throw them out.

8. The only network TV I watch? Dancing with the Stars. Other than that, it's HGTV all the way baby!

9. I claim to be 5'4", but in reality, I'm only about 5'3 1/2" . That's close enough, though, right? RIGHT?

10. I have freckles...and a love/hate relationship with them.

So there you have it...10 things you probably didn't know about me...and probably didn't care to know. Ha!

Have a great day~

I am also a magazine hoarder! Mine are very precious to me. Thanks for sharing all of that interesting stuff Wendy! I think you should send that book in! You've got great talent!

Lots in common here! I can't leave house without hair or makeup done, I have to make the beds, I love to vaccuum until I have nothing left to clean up!

It's not just you, cleaning calms me as well.

Thanks for sharing a little bit about you :)

I can't part with magazines either!

Good to know - wish I had a little more OCD about a few things.
It pains me to throw out dec. mags as well - you never know when you mind need to refer back.

Love learning these things about you, Wendy!

Had to share our commonalities -
*I claim to be 5'3 but am really only 5'2 & something
*I also have freckles and have always had a serious love/hate relationship with them! I can feel your pain!

Have a great day!

Cute and Fun!
Ah decorating magazines. A dreadful curse and a blessing as well.

I've been lurking for a bit, but had to comment on your cleaning calms me comment... I feel the same way! Actually getting down on my hands and knees and scrubbing my wood floors does it for me. It's relaxing while I'm scrubbing and relaxing when I'm finished and have a clean house!

Oh, so many things that are me...and in print. Well, I am TOO 5'4", they taught us to round, right? Clothes HAVE to be organize by the colors of the rainbow! How else would you know what to wear? Geesh, I didn't think anyone else knew this one. I AM getting rid of those decorating magazines...they are ready to go in my dining room...oh, I think they are in the guest room now. Well, anyway, they are neatly piled by year in 7 stacks ready to go...I swear!

I find cleaning and sweeping to be very therapeutic. And I also organize my closet by color, and in order of the rainbow.

We must be soul OCD sisters.

Cleaning is my break from reality and my way to control my little corner of the universe. I totally feel you on the bed-making, but could not care less about make up or hair most of the time. Comes from a dad and husband constantly telling me that I'm just as good looking without it. =)

That was a fun read about you!

Hi Wendy,

These were all great. I once could identify with the cleaning bit - vacuuming was therapy for me, but we have all hardwood and a roomba now! Sweeping just doesn't help the way vacuuming did.

I worked at Target in high school and there learned ROYGBIV method of display. I occasionally "zone" my closet clad with all white plastic tube hangers.

I sell children's books (Usborne) not write them, and I would love to add yours to my classroom or home library someday.

Best wishes!
Candace

Fun answers Wendy, like most of your other readers we have a lot in common. :-)

Great getting to know you! I can't leave home w/out the beds made either. Too funny!

I have a love/hate relationship with my freckles too. ;) When I was younger I wanted to remove them. Sometimes I still wish they would disappear. Other days I don't mind them. But, I very much want our kids to have them. Go figure! If I didn't like mine, I'm not sure why I would wish them on our kids. But, they are so cute when you are little!

there is nothing wrong with number 9! I'm 5'2.5" and claim five three!

Nicole said...

haha...I say that I am 5'5" but really 5'41/2" LOL...

{ L } said...

Wow, please come turn my closet into a rainbow...it would make my mom so happy. :) (probably my husband too! lol)

About #5...do it girl! Submit it! You are so super talented.

Elizabeth (blue clear sky) said...

Funny! I am also 5'3 1/2" but say
5'4" because once upon a time, maybe on a driver's license, someone measured me and I'm sticking with it.

Lainey-Paney said...

I'm 4' 11 3/4'', but I just say that I'm five feet. Life is easier that way.

Sharyl Williams said...

You mean there are other channels besides HGTV?!! I have lots in common with your list! I can't believe someone else organizes their closet the same way - I love color!!

I also love the idea about making the beds before you leave. It's a great practice.

Jennifer @ Our Cottage (in the Desert) said...

Wow! I was surprised to see that your 10 things were very similar to how I feel. I think cleaning is very therapeutic and when I'm streesed I tend to clean...no matter where I'm at! I also hate hate hate folding or doing laundry period and I don't like leaving the house without at least having my hair and make-up done...although I could still be wearing sweats!

This was fun to read!

CaraM said...

Oh Wendy - were we seperated at birth? I would have had the same responses to 1,2,3,4,7,9,10 EXACTLY the same! But I love folding laundry - that's another form of therapy for me. It's sort of a control thing.
Good fun!

Glad to know I'm not the only one who arranges clothes by color!

Da Mouse said...

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who arranges her clothes. Mine are in order of type (dress/nice shirt, tank tops, button up...etc). Since I started doing this, a few years ago, the order has not changed...My husband will not hang up my clothes because of this, lol.
