Thrifty Monday~

Today I'm joining Rhoda's Thrifty Monday Linky Party.

I wanted to share another of the little treasures I got from my Mom's house while we were out visiting. Check out this great little cheese dome.

Of course, I didn't really care for the base in it's "before" condition (can you say 1970's vintage - and not in a good way?), so I decided to give it a nice little coat of paint.

And here she is in all her freshly-painted glory. Pretty cute, huh? Of course, I didn't seal the paint, so I won't be using her for food, but the starfish look pretty cute.

Or here she is sporting another thrifty free find from my mom's...some vintage tin measuring spoons. I think she'd look pretty cute in my kitchen with these babies. Just sayin'

Hop on over to Rhoda's and check out the other great thrifty finds...
and have a great Monday~

I love the finished product. I see these all the time in the "before" state and pass them by. You've inspired me to give one a try!

Ooh I love that with the starfish in it!

When I saw the measuring spoons I thought...vintage? Those look exactly like the ones I have! And then I remembered that I got mine from my mom who has had them since probably the late 60's - so YEAH vintage, haha!

A cloche, a dome, a glass bubble, whatever you call them, I love them. Anything looks good under a cloche. So yes I agree put it in the kitchen with those spoons, it will look lovely.

I think my mom has one of those that she has never used...I wonder where it is? I love it with the sea stars in it!

Shopping at Moms! I can remember doing that. And now my daughter is moving out and she walks around the house "shopping". Great idea you have!

Hello,

I have been following your blog for almost a year now, in my feed reader. I was perviously able to see all your posts and pictures fine, but just in the last month, maybe since you came home from you vacation, I have been only getting the first few lines of your post and no pictures. Any idea what might be going wrong?

The teaspoons are so cute... my mom brought be my 95 year old grandfathers teaspoons this summer. She was going through his toolbox for him and she found some teaspoons and knew I would appreciate them! I have them in my kitchen now!
happy Monday,
LuLu

So cute! Love the before and after pics. Those measuring spoons are great for the kitchen, but the starfish is making me wish I had more of a "beachy" home. Very cute and clever!

Just found one of these at a yard sale for a buck. Not quite as cheap as yours~ *grin* I'm painting mine black. Love the starfish in yours.
