Frugal Friday~

Hello Everyone!!! For today's Frugal Friday, we're going to talk about Art. Art on the cheap! The great thing about art is that it is fairly subjective. That leaves those of us who are looking to beautify our space without spending the big bucks a myriad of different options!

So today I wanted to share with you all a few fun and inexpensive ideas to pretty up your walls.

First of all, if you haven't discovered these next blogs, you will thank me for introducing you. The Vintage Moth, The Graphics Fairy , and Vintage Printables are all blogs that share hundreds of images...for free! I have found amazing images on these blogs. And all you have to do is print them out and frame. VOILA! My cute little bird egg prints are just one example of the great things you can find.

Some of you may remember these Toile prints from my bathroom. They are nothing more than framed wrapping paper.

This fun idea is from the Princess' bedroom. Simply glue some old doll clothes to a piece of scrapbook paper. I have this in a shadow box frame, but you don 't need a shadow box. You can get the same effect by leaving the glass out of ordinary frame.

Don't be afraid to use objects as art. For this piece, inspired by Cherry at Cherry's Jubilee, I glued a skeleton key and a little magnet to some upholstery webbing. Easy Peasy!

Many of you have asked, so for next week's Frugal Friday I thought we should have a LINKY PARTY!!! Be thinking of Frugal decorating ideas, and then next week we will all get together and post our ideas using Mr. Linky!!! Can't wait to see you there!

Have a great weekend~

LOVE these new egg prints framed.
AND...so sorry to hear about the camera mishap. No one escapes the consequences of curious little hands when we are, or were, in the trenches of young motherhood.
Hopefully it will be one of those stories where you can say, "All's well that ends well". : )

Thanks for the ideas and blog links. I do art on the cheap all the time. It makes me feel so much better about changing things more often when I haven't spent a lot of money. I have used "wordless" greeting cards as well... super cheap.

Yeah a linky party! Love your creations. I wish I had a little girl to do the doll clothes project. I don't think my boys would appreciate it in their rooms!

Great ideas, each one is really lovely. We also make our own wall art by using photos we've taken. Some we've had blown up to quite large sizes, framed them, and hung them in various rooms. We like the concept of truly personalizing our wall decor.

I did the same thing with a free graphic of a bird and nest - Framed it in a frame from IKEA - the whole thing cost about $5.00 and I love it.

Frugal decorating ideas?!?!?! I'm on it. I'll shop the house and take pictures of all the cheap decorations that I put over the holes my kids made in the walls. This is going to be a great party my friend. Wishing you much success! Oh, I think we're on for July... week 3 and 4.

Love your art projects! I was just hunting for those sites you mentioned with the free graphics, you saved me some hunting time! I have bought that FAMILY magnet from Michael's for $1.00, and would never have thought to use it like art. I love it! What a great gift.

Thursday I will be having my very first linky party! I want to celebrate our childhood bedrooms, whether it's with old photos, or just good descriptions. Please join me if you can!
