Toile Tuesday~

Hello Everyone! We interrupt Spring Spruce-up week to bring you TOILE TUESDAY! I am joining the fun over at Pretty Organized Palace with her Toile Linky Party!

Hope you enjoy this little Toile Tour of my home...

One of my favorite projects...my Toile Barn Star!

This cute little toile birdie makes its home in the Princess' bedroom.

A banner also in the Princess' room...you all know I love a banner.

This pretty toile frame is in my kitchen...it makes me smile while I'm doing dishes...

Framed toile wrapping paper (the same paper from my barn star...I think I have a theme going here.)

This pretty toile pillow sits in my bay window...

Which brings me to my big project reveal...My window- seat cushion!!! (Sorry the photo isn't the greatest....I'll try to get a better one...) I have wanted a cushion for this bay window since we moved in to our house almost two years ago. What was holding me back? Well, partially it was the price of foam...until I hit on the idea of cutting up the other half of the old crib mattress I used on my mudbench. I pulled out my good old electric carving knife and cut up that mattress. Then I used electrical tape to hold the pieces together. (It sounds funny, but it worked great!) Then I sewed up the cover out of tan linen and red TOILE, of course. I love how it turned out! Just the softness this spot needed - the Princess has napped on it 3 times since I finished it last Friday!

And, if you still can't get enough toile, you can always wear it! (HA! It's a sickness, really.)

Thanks for joining my Toile Tour!

If you didn't get a chance yesterday, please check out my interview on Decor Medley.

Tomorrow, on my Spring Spruce-up Week agenda, some fun spring decor craft ideas.

Hope to see you then~

Okay...I had to laugh. I have a lot of toile too. I bought a toile sleeveless shirt and went to a party and the hostess looked at me and said "Did you make a shirt out of your couch?"

You can never have too much toile!

Everytime I see that little toile birdie, I want one. Did you make it? If so, will you make one (or 2) and sell it to me? If you purchased it, will you share your secrets? Pretty please? Love your style!

I can be reached at treeddavis @ yahoo (dot) com. Obviously all together.

Thank you so much.

Your window seat cushion is fabulous...it's so pretty with all of the pillows...especially that pretty red & white toile pillow! hehe! Was wondering about your toile star project...what kind of a star did you use? Did you make your own? It's charming...it turned out beautifully!!!

Thank you for sharing your toile and making this world a bit prettier!

I love your toile star. I have an extra star stashed in the closet, I think I feel some inspiration coming on! Thanks for the idea! I can only hope it will turn out as wonderful as yours! Where did you locate Toile wrapping paper? That would be perfect for Christmas decorating.

Wendy @ The Shabby Nest said...

Okay, a few questions have popped up about my barn star, ladies! First, I made it out of a barn star I had on hand and some toile wrapping paper that I had received on a gift. I cut the pieces to the size of the star rays and decoupaged them on using Mod Podge. Second, I'm sorry, but I'm really not sure where to find more of the paper. If any one out there knows, I'd like to get my hands on some more, too.
THANKS!

I so love your barn star. It is so gorgeous, never seen one in toile before. And your birdie, everything is so wonderful. Lucky girl, my hubby is a no go for toile. But I did sneak some toile into our laundry room so I was able to join in the toile party too. Your home looks wonderful.
