The Hubby gave me these lovely tulips for Valentine's Day. Tulips are my absolute favorite flower. As I look at them sitting on the table, I find myself longing for Spring. This winter has been a fierce one in New England, and this girl just can't wait for some warmer weather!
But the more I look at these little lovelies, the happier I feel. Studies have shown that having fresh flowers in the home is actually a mood elevator and that the flowers act as a stress reliever.
So go buy yourself a few flowers...a few dollars spent to chase away those winter blues isn't such a bad deal!
And while I'm on the subject of spring, I'm getting started on my spring cleaning a little early. I was so inspired by Shannon's pantry organization project, that I quit procrastinating, and finally started organizing my kiddo's rooms!
Lest you think that the Shabby Nest is always spic and span...here is a before photo of the boys' closet/reading nook.
Have a great Wednesday~

Ok, girl! I hope you can join me for Thrifty Thursday!
Isn't it amazing how organizing can breath new life into an otherwise cramped and dead and "dreaded" space? I LOVE IT. The organized pantry was super. I have a walk in pantry that well... needs to be organized. Where to begin... sigh... think I'll go to bed.
Red desk is so darling!
tulips are some of my favorite flowers too. i've noticed some of my spring flowers beginning to sprout around here, really giving me spring fever. i enjoy shannon's post too. i'm hoping posts like that will inspire me to tackle my laundry room.
Love the tulips - they're my favorite flower too! I agree - having flowers in your home is such a nice little pick-me-up!
Doesn't it feel great to get things organized? This time of year is perfect for getting things in order, esp. since it's been so cold!
Love your tulips they are gorgeous!
The space looks great and I can't believe you got all that done and another room as well....you were definitely on a roll! Guess what...I did always think the nest was spic and span...silly me.♥
Lovely tulips! I could use a bit of spring cheer. I'm so sick of winter and being cold. sigh.
Love the before and after photos! I really need to purge my girls' stuff and find a furniture piece to act as toy storage and as a sofa table. Just haven't had much luck shopping Craigslist.
I bought myself some tulips...I was in charge of VDay dinner. They are lovely and I bought the whole plant so I can plant the bulbs!
I love your honesty in the photo of the boys' room. I need to get started as well!
Flowers always make me feel better too. Hurry up, Spring!

I love tulips too! And your before and after closet looks wonderful!
What a great accomplishment! You are inspiring me to get something accomplished today! My spring cleaning goal is to get rid of some of the junk in this house. Too much stuff!
Those flowers are just beautiful. I keep saying that I'm going to get some flowers and I have not done it, but I love fresh flowers in the house. This will be a good incentive.

Who can resist tulips? Tulips and daisies are the very happiest flowers in my opinion.
The boys' closet looks amazing. That little red desk is to die for.
And of course I would only see the linking over as pure fun. : )
Have a good day.
Oh man those tulips are gorgeous!!! The hubby did great! So if you want warm, you can always come visit me here in South Texas, our high today is 86! Yuck! hehe! The boys room looks great!
Happy Hump day,
Abigail
You're a lucky girl to recieve such lovely tulips. I've been thinking alot about spring cleaning myself. I just seem to like reading about organizaiton more than actually doing it, but you've inspired me. Thanks
Hey, you were on a roll, I see no procrastination going on there! Great job on the closet. It's a good thing my boys' closets aren't that big, or I would cleaning forever!
Your tulips are beautiful, and if only my cat wouldn't eat them I would have flowers in every room.

Very very pretty! I love tulips. We are heading to Trader Joe's tonight to pick up flowers to replace the ones that are dying from V-day. Love how cute and cozy his space looks now. I've been tidying all kinds of corners. We had sunshine today, so I was just feeling so Springish.
Those tulips are beautiful, I'm going to have to get some. Great job on the closet clean. My sons' room needs attention too.
I lived with a European family when I was in my early 20s...and fresh flowers were always in their home {just part of the grocery shopping}...It was something I said I wanted to always do...and I've tried to always grab flowers when I shop...
Love it...I love that having flowers indoors make us happy/smile!
I'm ready for spring, too!
Love fresh flowers sprinkled all over in the house~ it's just a great simple touch, isn't it?
