Oh, I just love blogland! I get so much decorating inspiration from all of you lovely bloggers out there! And especially since so many of my favorite shelter magazines are falling by the way, I look to blogs for inspiration more and more!
I have two shelves in my kitchen that the Hubby built for me to replace a horrible "floating" cabinet which looked terribly out of place. They are great, and I love them. But, I have had a hard time deciding exactly what I wanted to do with them. Until yesterday, when I found this great post by
Heather Bullard about her
newly renovated kitchen.
You can see in this BEFORE pic how great the shelves are, but the "stuff" I had on them was uninspired to say the least. Can you all say "BORING!"

Now, this AFTER pic is much better. I still need a pretty platter for the bottom shelf (all the platters I have aside from the square one on the top shelf are too big...or too colorful). I'd also like a few smaller pieces like Heather has on her shelves. But overall, a WONDERFUL transformation! All Hail Design Blogs!!!

Have a lovely Wednesday~

The shelves look perfect now...like they were meant to be there and always have been! LOVE all your white dishes.
That looks great! Love the white dishes...I need to get some for my kitchen remodel!
This is me- ooohing and ahhhing. Can you come do my shelves next?
oh they look great love your telephone by the way!
oooh! I love it! Simple & beautiful! I love white dishes in the kitchen - I have my milk glass collection on top of my cabinets.
I have a post request for you - I've mentioned before how nicely uncluttered your house is, esp. of toys. I'm wondering if you'd do a post showing how with four little ones you've conquered the toy storage & what works for you.
That turned out great. You can't go wrong with white dishes.
Very pretty...I love white dishes..loved them..the black ribbon on the platter is so cute!

So pretty! I love how the color of your walls showcase the white of your dishes!

Simply beautiful!
Now, that's an "aaaahhhhhhhh" moment when you change something, you love it, and it looks perfect.
Love it!

I love my house more than ever since I have found blogging. Great ideas that are orignal, creative, beautiful, and most important, functional. Your arrangement looks great.
Laura...great idea for a post...I think I'll do that...now if you could just see the toys strewn all around my house, you might change your mind. ;-)
Oh! It looks great!! I love all the pieces and those shelves your husband built are fabulous!
Wendy, I love how you changed it up. It looks so pretty with your white dishes. Makes me so happy that at least we have SOME inspiration left in the world, since all the magazines are dying off!

P.S. How funny that you have a rice pad too! :) We are cut from the same cloth!
Really nice. I love the usefullness of your display. Just grab the cereal bowls easily for breakfast at the bar. Genius.
It looks just like the inspiration photo! Beautiful transformation!
I LOVE all of your white dishes on the shelves...GORGEOUS!
Great idea, and so cute with all the white...love it

Yes, sista,... All Hail Design Blogs! It looks like you got to go shopping for that great shelf! In the new kitchen painting renovation whatever the heck I'm doing... I have plans for a similar set of shelves. Really, I just need an open cabinet and a place to file my dishes. Dumb builders have all these "Options" that aren't options, they're necessities! I LOVE the dishes!...
Lets do a linky toy hiding post. I'll join you! Moms need serious toy hiding inspiration. Nice that I offered for you to host the linky (I'm too dinky to host the linky and looking at html codes makes me a little blinky...) Let me know.. I'll advertise at my blog for the partay!
This is beginning to get too wierd! I have been planning a kitchen makeover at my lake house for the longest time-white on white, with the open shelving like Heather posted yesterday. I haven't started on my kitchen yet, but the word is spreading ;-)
The shelves look great...before long you will have TOO many white pieces!!!
xoxo

Very, very cute! You did a great job with your white dishes. That really made a big difference and one I like very much! I know you must be happy! Amazing how a little tweak here and there can make such a big statement, isn't it? Thanks for sharing.
XO,
Sheila :-)
That looks darling. There is nothing better than stacks of white dishes!
Love the white dishes, especially the cake stand with ribbon, too cute!
There's nothing like sharing ideas.
very, very pretty - I love the white dishes :)
So pretty. I adore white dishes. The starfish are now in a cloche on my table, smiles~
That looks great! I love the white dishes!
I love the simplicity of it!! The "new" stuff gives a little more weight to it and really looks nice! Happy New Year from Texas!
Nice job! I love these open shelves. But they do up the ante on kitchen decor. You can't display what you usually hide in your cabinets.
I love it! That looks fresh and crisp and beautiful!
Very pretty! The changes definitely make your shelves pop now! I really love how the white dishes with a few little black accents make both the dishes and the pretty black shelf supports stand out. I adore making simple changes with things I already have that make a big difference!
