Ice Storm in New England

I'm sure most of you have heard about the ice storm that hit the Northeast at the end of last week. The effects were devastating for some. Thousands lost power. We were lucky enough to only get rain during those terrible storms, but the next town over from us was not so lucky. Sunday we took a drive to see the ice. Despite the fact that it caused such trouble, it was amazing to see. Absolutely breathtaking. I have never seen anything like it. And my kiddos were spellbound. They thought it looked like a fairy land. And you know, I agree.

I just wanted to share with you some of the photos we took. Mother Nature is amazing. Enjoy.

And to give credit where credit is due...the Hubby took all of these photos. Amazing, aren't they?

Have a lovely Monday~

wow, that is so beautiful! We are hoping to wake up to some snow tomorrow in arkansas. I'm crossing my fingers for it. I love the picture of what looks like a church steeple.

Ice can do so much damage but it is truly a beautiful sight when everything is iced over. We might get some of that today and tomorrow. I'm hoping we don't!!!

We had the ice storm last year....thank God for fireplaces and generators. We still look back on it as "fun", because the entire community had to shut down...so, no stress about getting to work or school. We played a lot of board games....3 families were in one house for a week. The hardest part was breaking ice for the farm animals every hour.
My mom took an amazing picture of a cardinal in an ice covered tree that one at the county fair. Sooooo pretty!!!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe those photos. Makes me cold just looking at them! It is freezing here, too, but luckily we don't have the ice problem!

Ice storms are deceptively beautiful, aren't they? I know how destructive they can be though. Your pictures do look gorgeous though and I hope your power is still on:)
