Deck the Outdoors~

Just thought I'd share with you a little bit of my outdoor decor...

I just love simplicity. I have a wreath on every window in the front of our house and each just has a simple cranberry ribbon.

Under the windows I filled these little planters with some leftover Christmas tree cuttings and some huge pine cones.

This little basket on my side porch is filled with the same. Simple and pretty.
Oh, and Mother Nature threw in a little of this stuff for good measure.

Oh and before you go...my little sis did it again...check out this cute ornament she made...looks like a pear, right? Hop over to her blog and see how she made it. Yeah, I know, she's a genius. (If I do say so myself.)

Have a lovely Thursday~

I love the window baskets! So pretty. I love putting a wreath on every window. For some reason we haven't done that in our current house. I need to!

I forgot to ask about the dried oranges on your tree. Do you dry them yourself and if so, is it as simple & slicing & letting them dry? Thanks!

Hi Laura...
You know, I dried the oranges a few years back (they keep really well once they're dried). And all I remember is that I looked some instructions up online. I can't remember all of the steps, but it involves baking them at a low temp for a looooooooong time. Sorry I'm not more help...I do remember that I googled it and there was a LOT of info on it so I'm sure you can find something.

Good luck to you :-)

Wow! Looks great! I'd love to have a neighbor that decorated like you. What a treat to open the shades every morning that would be!
I want to see more of the outside in all its splendor!

I love that look...soo classic! Hey Wendy did you get the webbing at Walmart? I used burlap on our tree...just tying it here and there..but love your idea too! I missed yesterdays posts about the silouettes....I collect them when I can find them here and there. I have one of Hunter from Disneyland..they have the same lady that did the cutting when I was a child! Love yours...YOu have style girl! Cherry

Cherry...yep, I got it at Walmart...something like 60 cents per yard. I got 10 yards for next to nothing. Got to love that!

I do the simple wreath with the ribbon too in my windows! (we don't have outside electricity in the front of our house)

This year I am adding a single battery operated candle in the windows to give some light :)
