Thankful Thursday (and a little teaser)...

Since it is the month of November, I thought it only fitting that I share some of the things for which I'm thankful. (See that? I re-wrote that sentence so it would have correct grammar...that's the editorial assistant in me coming out...doesn't happen that often...but I digress). So, I'm going to make the next few Thursdays, Thankful Thursdays at the Shabby Nest. (And in case you were wondering, that funny bird is supposed to be a turkey.)

Our family has this fun little chalkboard door by our back entrance, and we have been trying to write something on it daily for which we are thankful. The first thing we wrote is family. I am very thankful for my family. And I am exceptionally thankful for their good health. And in these trying times, I am also thankful that we have a roof over our heads and food in our tummies. And in light of the fact that election day was this past Tuesday, I am thankful that I live in this wonderful country where we have the opportunity to make our voices heard as we vote to choose our leader. More thankfulness next Thursday...

On to more frivolous stuff...

I have some projects on the horizon...can you guess what they might be?

Happy Thankful Thursday~

If your projects are using those fabrics, they're going to look great.

I love the door. This is something that I am finding it hard to commit too. I want to do a door in our kitchen that leads to the utilty room in chalk board paint, but I am worried about the turn out. Yours however looks great!

Wendy,
I've missed a lot going on at your beautiful home while I've been away. The half-bath makeover turned out fabulous. LOVE the vanity, sink and faucet!!! LOVE the beadboard! It all looks like it's out of a magazine. I'll be sure to go over to RMS and vote. : ) Also, moving the bookshelf into your Library was inspired. It looks great there. And I love the dark brown wall!!!
And last but not least, the photos of the forks in honey and the broken bowl are priceless. One day, when the boys are taller than you, they will look back at this post and be grateful for the way you handled it. Way to go mom!!!

I am thankful for you & your inspiring ideas! I've been rereading your posts about your kitchen - painting the cabinets, etc., because we also have the same needs in our kitchen. We have a cute country kitchen, but the cabinets were pretty blah when we moved in. We repainted them, but would love to do them again, so I was reading & showing my hubby what you did in your kitchen. That's when the light bulb went on - literally! I noticed that you have a lamp on your kitchen counter. We are blessed (cringe!) with a lovely fluorescent (sp) overhead light in our kitchen (future project). This afternoon I brought up a beautiful hobnail milk glass lamp from the basement and put it in our kitchen. What a huge difference! Even my hubby said it changed the atmosphere of the kitchen.
Thank you a million times over for all of your inspiring ideas!

Okay Wendy, I finally got over to RMS, signed up, and left a comment (first time). Just want to make sure that leaving a comment is the same as rating??? I looked everywhere for a choice that said, rate this space. Let me know if I did it wrong. My comment ID is 11296543.
Also, I agree with the comment above...your kitchen makeover is incredible! : )
