More chalkboards

First, I want to thank everyone who has left me such lovely comments! What a wonderful bunch of ladies you all are. I will try to get back to all of you...please be patient with me!

Now on to chalkboards! I have mentioned before how much I love chalkboards...well here is a fun idea for all of you hostesses out there. Small chalkboards are wonderful for buffets! I have seen them used to "tell" people what kinds of soups, dips, breads etc. are sitting before them. I used some recently to label spots on the table for "h'ors doevres", "entrees", and "desserts".
And, if you have little people like mine who constantly ask you what's for dinner...I often use the board pictured to list today's menu. It's a great way to avoid having to hear "what's for dinner?" 50 times a day (or more.)
Oh, and just a note...I hot glued the ribbon with a dot on the front and the back of the board so that it wouldn't slide down and cover the words.

Oooh! I love chalkboards also. I hope to get one painted on the side of my kitchen cabinet this week. I love your sweet little one in the kitchen. I may have to try the "today's menu" idea.

Hey I enjoyed your blog and will add you to my favorites list. Your blog is great. I especially love the chalk board. I just got one and I am going to frame it out with a dark red trim and then set a red geranium plant next to it. I really like your ideas and congratulations for being picked on Today's Creative Blog!
Yippeee for you!
Blessings, Debbie

Love the chalkboard? I'll be on the lookout for a little chalkboard for this project. I wonder if I can find more counter space while I'm at it?

That is such a cute idea! Did you make the chalkboard or did you buy them. I am in the process of making a chalkboard right now. Hopefully I will be posting about it this weekend.

What a great idea. Can you find the chalk boards at craft stores, or did you have to make them yourself?

I love chalkboards too. I have one in my kitchen and I write seasonal messages on it or the menu, if we're having company.

I love your ribbon. On mine, I use that tacky, gummy stuff that you hang posters with to attach little wooden things each season... flamingo for summer, snowflake for winter, etc. I get them ready-to-paint or already painted at michaels. It's about time to switch to an autumn message, so I'll have to take a picture for my blog. :)
